Project Manager - Luxury Custom Residential Construction

We are hiring an experienced Project Manager to join a growing luxury custom residential construction team in the Santa Rosa area. This role is ideal for someone with strong high-end residential construction experience who can manage custom home projects from preconstruction through closeout. Projects typically range from approximately $5M to $25M and may last 16 to 30 months, allowing true ownership from start to finish. The right candidate will be comfortable working closely with clients, architects, designers, subcontractors, field teams, and company leadership while maintaining strong communication, organization, quality control, and attention to detail. Responsibilities Manage luxury custom residential construction projects from preconstruction through closeout Oversee project schedules, budgets, subcontractors, vendors, materials, RFIs, change orders, and documentation Coordinate with ownership, field teams, architects, designers, consultants, and clients to keep projects moving forward Review plans, specifications, revisions, and project requirements for accuracy, constructability, and scope alignment Maintain clear communication with clients and project stakeholders throughout each phase of construction Proactively identify project risks, resolve issues, and support timely decision-making Ensure projects are completed according to schedule, budget, quality standards, and client expectations Support field teams with timely information, coordination, and problem-solving throughout construction Maintain accurate project records, schedules, meeting notes, and communication updates Represent the company professionally when working with high-end residential clients and project Experience managing luxury custom residential construction projects Strong understanding of high-end residential construction, custom finishes, client expectations, and project sequencing Experience managing projects in the $5M–$25M range preferred Ability to manage long-duration projects, typically lasting 16–30 months Strong client communication skills and ability to work with homeowners, architects, designers, subcontractors, and internal teams Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and contract documents Strong organization, follow-through, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills Stable work history and long-term career mindset Must be able to work primarily in the Santa Rosa area Local candidates within approximately 45 minutes of Santa Rosa are strongly preferred Not ideal for candidates seeking fully remote work Not ideal for candidates with only commercial construction experience Competitive base salary of approximately $120,000–$170,000, depending on experience Hybrid flexibility with approximately 4 days in office/field and 1 day remote Opportunity to manage high-end custom residential projects instead of repetitive production housing Long project timelines that allow full project ownership from start to finish Direct exposure to company leadership Small, collaborative team environment Strong local project portfolio in the luxury residential market Opportunity to join a growing company with additional high-end residential work being pursued
