SKILLBRIDGE INTERN CABLE & TELECOMMUNICATION INFRASTRUCTURE TECHNICIAN: HELPER

Helper Position

The Helper provides direct support to installation teams including material handling, tool staging, and maintaining safe job-site operations.

The Helper is an entry-level technical role supporting cable installation and data center infrastructure operations. Participants assist experienced technicians with the installation, routing, termination, and testing of fiber optic and copper cabling systems, helping build and maintain critical communication networks.

Focus: Foundational skills and hands-on exposure. Designed for participants entering the industry with limited direct civilian experience. Participants support experienced technicians while learning core job site practices, safety procedures, and basic technical skills.

Key Training Areas:

• Basic fiber optic and copper cable installation support
• Cable routing, labeling, and cable management
• Rack-and-stack support
• Tool identification and proper use
• Job site safety and workplace professionalism
• Introduction to data center and structured cabling environments

Outcome: Participants develop the baseline skills, habits, and technical exposure needed for entry-level roles such as Helper, Installer, or Junior Cable Technician.

Requirements

• Possess an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance
• Duration of training: 1 - 30 days
• Assist with cable pulls, material staging, and site prep
• Maintain tool accountability and jobsite cleanliness
• Follow all OSHA and site-specific safety requirements
• Support technicians in installation and workflow tasks
• Placement on a track is based on prior experience, military background, technical aptitude, business needs, and program availability.
• Target MOCs 3D1X2, 3D1X7, 25L, 25B, 25H, 0612, 0631

SkillBridge Fellows are not eligible for any employee benefits, however they may be available upon conversion to full-time.

To be eligible for SkillBridge, you must meet the following requirements:

• Must be eligible to participate in Fellowship per DoD Instruction 1322.29.
• Must be projected to receive an honorable discharge from the military.
• Must have all TAP and transition requirements completed prior to the start date.
• Must receive approval from Unit Commander or O4+ in the chain of command.
• Must be located within a commutable distance or willing/approved to relocate to the job location

The EOA Technologies SkillBridge Program is organized into five structured training tracks designed to support transitioning Service Members as they build practical, career-ready skills in telecommunications, data center infrastructure, technical operations, and leadership support functions. Each track is intended to provide hands-on learning, supervised experience, and exposure to real-world business operations.

Participation in this program does not constitute employment with EOA Technologies. Participants remain active-duty Service Members under the authority of their respective military branch throughout the duration of the program.
