Summary This position is located in Cape Lookout National Seashore, in the Administration Division. Major Duties Individuals selected for this position will perform a variety of duties related to property and fleet management. Responsibilities include conducting property inventories, analyzing findings, managing accountability of property, preparing reconciliation reports, purchasing equipment and supplies, serving as a receiving officer, checking items against acquisition documents, tracking lost and found, and establishing disposal records. The incumbent will provide direction and advice to the Accountable Property Officer and custodial and liaison officers on procedures for marking and maintaining accountability of property, and will enforce adherence to established standards for acquisition, utilization, accountability, and disposal. Education There is no substitution of education for experience at the grade level(s) of this announcement. Requirements U.S. Citizenship is required. Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication. Males must meet Selective Service Registration Act requirements. Completion of initial online assessment and USA Hire Assessment, if required. Participation in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program and possession of a valid driver’s license, Motor Vehicle Operator’s license, and driving record. Uniform wear and compliance with National Park Service uniform standards; a uniform allowance will be provided. Availability for on‑call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime, shift work, and overnight travel. Possession of a government charge card for travel purposes. Minimum age of 18 years, or at least 16 years with high school graduation or equivalent, or other acceptable criteria related to education and experience. Physical Demands The work is mostly sedentary but requires standing, bending, lifting, and walking to conduct inventories and disposal actions and to stock and retrieve warehouse supplies. Tasks include lifting and carrying heavy objects up to 40 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Working Conditions The work is performed in an office setting with some time spent in field locations. The position is suitable for telework only during an emergency or natural disaster.
