Data Analyst IIThe Data Analyst II is a mid-level data analytics professional responsible for conducting complex analyses that support clinical, operational, and strategic initiatives across the healthcare system. This position collaborates with clinical leaders, IT, finance, and quality teams to deliver actionable insights and support performance improvement, population health, and regulatory compliance efforts.The role combines advanced analytics, programming, data engineering, visualization, stakeholder consultation, and data governance while contributing to projects and mentoring junior analysts.The Data Analyst II conducts complex data analyses to support clinical, operational, and strategic initiatives across the healthcare system. Reporting to a Manager or Director of Data Analytics or Business Intelligence, this role collaborates with clinical leaders, IT, finance, and quality teams to deliver actionable insights.The position serves as a key contributor to performance improvement, population health, and regulatory compliance efforts while managing projects, mentoring junior analysts, and developing advanced dashboards and statistical models.Responsibilities include:Advanced Analysis and CodingData Engineering and ManagementVisualization and StorytellingConsultation and CommunicationMentorship and GovernanceCollaborationRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Public Health, Health Information Management, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.Minimum of three years of relevant experience in data analysis, reporting, or healthcare analytics.Relevant education may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.Preferred Qualifications:Master's degree in a quantitative or healthcare-related field.Five or more years of experience in a healthcare setting using EHR, claims, or quality data.Experience with SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI, or SAS.Salary Range: $70,252+ depending on qualifications.Working Conditions include:Standard office equipment.Repetitive use of a keyboard.May be exposed to occupational hazards such as communicable diseases, blood borne pathogens, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation, hazardous medications, and disoriented or combative patients, or others.Required Materials:Resume/CV3 work references with their contact information; at least one reference should be from a supervisorLetter of interest The University of Texas at Austin Staff
