United Help Ukraine, Inc. is a non-profit charitable organization receiving and distributing donations, food and medical supplies to Ukrainian IDPs (internally displaced people), people of Ukraine affected by Russia’s invasion into Ukraine, families of wounded or killed for freedom and independence of Ukraine. Our activities focus on fund-raising events, raising awareness of the crisis in Ukraine by engaging individuals, organizations, private and government institutions, and media in the United States of America. Social Media Manager increases exposure by managing social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok, and YouTube. They work to achieve the organization’s goals of raising awareness, increasing visibility of activities, strengthening brand recognition, building community, and attracting potential donors and supporters. From developing social media strategies to creating content that delivers the organization’s message in creative ways, the Social Media Manager communicates the main goals and activities of the organization to UHU followers. The Social Media Manager analyzes data to determine which approaches work best and uses these insights to continue expanding and engaging the audience of United Help Ukraine. RESPONSIBILITIES Collaborate in creating and implementing social media strategy to align with the organization’s marketing goals. Generate, edit, publish, and share engaging content daily (e.g., original text, photos, videos, and news). Be integrated into the office team workflow, working from the office two days per week Attend office-based events and provide content. Attend DMV-area events as determined by the Marketing Director to create comprehensive coverage, including fast mobile content to drive stronger engagement within the local community. Develop innovative content ideas aligned with brand identity and mission Perform research on current benchmark trends and audience preferences Organize and maintain digital content libraries and assets Collaborate with other teams across the organization to ensure brand consistency. Communicate with followers, respond to queries in a timely manner, and monitor customer responses and comments Oversee social media account design and ensure alignment with the organization’s brand guidelines. Identify opportunities to influence public perception through audience engagement Suggest and implement new features to develop UHU brand awareness Stay up to date with current technologies and trends in social media, design and AI tools, and applications. Lead community outreach and influencer marketing initiatives. Align daily workflow with organizational marketing and social media strategies and take full ownership of execution and outcomes. Own and report on key social media KPIs (reach, engagement, conversion, growth) Translate organizational goals into platform-specific content strategy Develop monthly/quarterly content plans and campaigns Translate complex policy or humanitarian topics into accessible social content Work closely with fundraising, advocacy, events, and program teams Align content with press, email, and campaign communications Perform other related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Demonstrated experience as a Social Media Manager and professional content creator. Hands-on experience in professional content creation and management, including professional photo and video shooting and editing. On-site production readiness (available for on-the-ground filming, and field coverage when needed) Ability to work in fast-paced, real-time environments Proficient in content editing tools such as Canva, CapCut, InShot, Captions, and others. Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Midjourney, Nano Banana, and others. Experience in writing shot lists and facilitating video and photo shoots. Experience with content scheduling tools such as Buffer. Experience in creating and managing fundraisers. Strong capability to manage and complete tasks independently. Strong understanding of analytics and data-driven decision-making approaches. Solid knowledge of SEO, keyword research. Basic knowledge of Google Ads. Proven experience in managing promotions and advertising campaigns across platforms. Understanding of platform-specific formats, algorithms, and best practices. Familiarity with web design.
