We offer competitive pay and benefits, and well-being programs to support you and your family.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe applicant, reporting to the Quality Engineering Manager, will be responsible for establishing and maintaining inspection system in support of the production targets for components, assemblies, and machines manufactured at the Technology and Manufacturing Center in Oak Ridge, TN.Major Duties and Responsibilities:Lead the development of Advanced Product Quality Planning activities including PFMEA's, Control Plans, and Measurement System AnalysisLeads efforts to identify opportunities for process improvements in inspection technology, techniques, data collection and samplingCoach and mentor others in quality topics and activitiesDevelop inspection plans identifying required instrumentation and gagingDevelop process capability metrics for products and utilize statistical methods to develop and implement capability improvements and sampling frequencyReview procurement specifications, design specifications, fabrication procedures, maintenance work packages, and other documents for incorporation of appropriate quality controlsReview First Article Inspection packagesLead the investigation of escapes to determine root cause and corrective actionUtilize products and process knowledge to develop and implement quality management system improvement opportunitiesLead evaluation of test equipment and precision measuring instrumentsManages work to ensure that deliverables are met within schedule and budget with minimum management oversiteAdheres to company policies, procedures, code of conduct, security, and environmental and safety program requirementsEducation and LicensureHS Diploma. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or a technical field preferred.Skills, Experience and QualificationsRequired Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:5+ years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.Experience with NQA-1 quality systems.Due to federal contract security requirements, candidates must be able to successfully pass a federal background investigation to secure and maintain DOE Q security clearance if required.Due to federal contract security requirements, this position requires U.S. Citizenship.Successful candidates will be able to perform the essential functions of the job with reasonable accommodation.
