General Description This position plays an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for staff and visitors. The role performs a variety of custodial and facility support duties, including cleaning, maintaining supplies, monitoring building systems, and assisting with room setups for meetings and events. This position also helps support building safety by conducting facility checks, monitoring fire protection systems, and identifying maintenance needs. The ideal candidate takes pride in keeping facilities running smoothly and creating a positive environment for everyone who uses the space. This position is for a full-time, daytime custodian. Learn where custodial supplies are kept and replenish supplies when needed. Observe and identify areas that need repair and submit information to the supervisor. Comply with state and federal policies such as OSHA and EPA. Operate and maintain equipment, including hand and shop tools. Move furniture and set up conference rooms for meetings and events. Perform designated watchman rounds to ensure security and safety, check building systems for proper function, and update security logs. Perform chemical renovations. Monitor fire protection systems. Preferences Preference will be given to applicants with prior experience working with cleaning materials and chemicals. Knowledge Knowledge of materials, supplies, equipment, and methods of more technical cleaning and maintenance. Knowledge of power and manual tools. Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations. Minimum Qualifications Education: High School Diploma Experience: 0-6 months of progressive work experience (typically in Building and Grounds) or 1-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Building and Grounds) as a substitute for education and experience. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: None Physical Working Conditions Exposure to hazardous materials, chemicals, bio-hazards, and elements. Must be able to drive vehicles and operate large, complex cleaning and grounds maintenance equipment. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
