Job Title: Phlebotomist Location: Cooperman Barnabas Medical Ctr Department Name: Lab CBMC Req #: 0000233197 Status: Hourly Shift: Day Pay Range: $20.29 - $24.20 per hour Pay Transparency The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. Responsibilities Assumes responsibility for obtaining all blood or non‑blood specimens of patients seen in physician's office by venipuncture from the arm and/or micro collections from fingers in a variety of collection tubes or capillaries, some of which contain preservatives or anticoagulants. Prepares all specimens to be sent to appropriate laboratories and completes applicable paperwork. Assumes responsibility for recognizing situations that must be brought to the attention of the Office Manager or the Manager of Support Services of the Department of Pathology at Saint Barnabas Medical Center. Performs additional tasks as requested by the Manager of Support Service. Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent Basic Life Support certification Valid driver license, and insurance for outreach phlebotomists Essential Functions Blood collection – mobile phlebotomists need extensive experience with collecting patient blood samples and donations, including following medical safety procedures. Specimen storage and transport – solid grasp of processes and procedures for safely transporting and storing laboratory samples. Travel to patient locations – mobile phlebotomists travel directly to patient or client locations, including nursing homes or rehabilitation centers, as well as businesses and public spaces where specimen collection takes place.
