Adjunct Professor - California School of Professional Psychology (Emeryville) Candidate Pool

Starting Salary $40 per hour. Salary will be based on candidate experience and course enrollment. Minimum Requirements Education : Doctoral degree in Psychology (PsyD or PhD) from an accredited college or university. Experience : Appropriate clinical and/or teaching experience in the areas of specialization and expertise. Licenses : Psychology license preferred based on program need. Position Summary Adjunct faculty are scholars and professionals who teach in their area of specialization. The primary affiliation of adjunct faculty is not with the university. Application Description Applicants will be considered for a candidate pool encompassing one or more of the subject areas outlined in the job description. This pool will be used to identify qualified candidates for potential appointments during the 2025‑2026 academic year. Fall 2025 – Fall 2026 Courses History & Systems: Psychology – This course covers the history of psychology from the ancient world to the 21st century, including philosophical antecedents and contemporary developments. Biological Basis of Behavior – Provides foundations in neurobiology, neurochemistry, neuroendocrinology, and molecular genetics related to mental activities and psychopathology. Observation & Interviewing – A seminar that teaches core clinical skills such as therapeutic relationship, empathy, information elicitation, risk assessment, cultural sensitivity, and managing transference. Duties & Responsibilities Facilitate classroom and distance/distributed learning. Prepare course and syllabus. Coordinate and plan curriculum. Assess and evaluate learners. Mentor and advise students. Hold office hours and meet with students. Mentor and supervise research/scholarship. Skills Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Ability to work independently and be self‑motivated. High accuracy and attention to detail; problem‑solving ability. Ability to explain complex requirements clearly. Flexible workflow to meet departmental and student needs and manage multiple tasks by deadlines. Drive to encourage, direct, hold accountable and guide candidates to task completion. Effective teamwork and building trusting relationships with students and university staff. Culturally humble; effective communication with diverse people. Highly motivated, focused and results‑oriented. Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in all interactions. Collaborate with university stakeholders to support candidate success. Work Hours: Standard office hours; occasional evenings or weekends may be required depending on course schedule. Travel: None.
