Position Type: Part-time, adjunct
Semester: Fall 2026
Compensation: $850 - $1,000 per credit, based on adjunct faculty rank (determined by education and experience)
Position Overview:
NHTI seeks a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach Introduction to Music and World Music. These courses provide students with foundational knowledge of music as both an art form and a sociocultural phenomenon.

Course Names: MUSC 105C: Introduction to Music and MUSC 107C World Music
Credits: 3 per course
Lecture Hours: 3 per course
Lab/Practicum Hours: None
Schedule: Online
Location: NHTI Campus, Concord, NH
Course Descriptions:
MUSC 105C: Offers a fundamental approach to perceptive listening based on a detailed study of several masterpieces representing different periods and forms. The pieces will be studied from aesthetic and historical perspectives.
MUSC 107C: Through the exploration of soundscapes, or music within a cultural setting, students will learn sound characteristics and instrument classification that can be used for any type of music. Students will come to understand the significance of world music and music within a culture. Students will develop critical listening skills and the vocabulary necessary to understand and evaluate music. No musical background is necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach the assigned course using provided curriculum and instructional materials aligned with program standards.
Facilitate class discussions, assignments, and assessments to foster student engagement and learning.
Provide regular feedback and maintain accurate records of student progress.
Maintain professional currency in the field and comply with college policies and standards.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Master's degree in Music or a relevant field.
Experience: At least two years of teaching experience at the college level, preferably in an undergraduate music course.
Desired qualifications: Excellent communication skills, familiarity with Canvas (or similar LMS), ability to teach other courses in Music.
Residency: Must reside in NH, VT, ME, MA, RI, or CT.
