Lead Setter

Total Compensation: Compensation

Hourly base of $21–$29/hour based on experience, plus performance bonuses for confirmed appointments that run and close. Realistic first-year earnings: $50,000–$75,000+ for a high-performing setter. Weekly pay.

Workplace Setting: Fully onsite At our Northfield NJ office

The Lead Setter is the first voice a homeowner hears from Veterans Roofing. You handle inbound calls and web inquiries, make outbound calls to new and past leads, qualify what the homeowner actually needs, and get a real appointment on the calendar for our sales team.

Speed matters more here than almost anything else. A homeowner with a leak is calling three contractors, and the one who answers first and sounds like they have it handled usually wins. Your job is to be that one.

The appointments you set determine what the rest of the company works on. A well-qualified appointment at a time the homeowner will actually keep is worth more than three sloppy ones, and we measure it that way.

Veterans Roofing was founded in 2021 by Marine Corps veteran Taylor Speirs and Paul Kabala. We protect South Jersey homes with disciplined craftsmanship, honest communication, and a service-first team culture that strengthens the communities we serve.

• Inbound leads get contacted within minutes, not hours, every time

• The appointments you set hold — the homeowner is home, expecting us, and the right decision-maker is there

• Sales reps trust the notes you leave, because what you wrote down is what they find

• Make outbound.

• Contact every inbound lead within minutes during business hours

• Set qualified appointments per week

• Confirm every appointment in advance and reschedule rather than a no-show

• Work the follow-up cadence on unreached and not-yet-ready leads without letting any go cold

• Log every call, outcome and detailed note in the CRM in real time

• Participate in daily call reviews and ongoing phone training

• Sounds like a person on the phone, not a script — while still following the process

• Qualifies properly: understands the problem, confirms decision-makers, sets expectations for the appointment

• Keeps dialing through a slow day without the energy dropping

• Takes accurate, useful notes a sales rep can actually work from

• Handles an upset or skeptical homeowner calmly

• Comfortable in a CRM and on a phone system all day

• Phone-based sales, appointment setting, call center or customer service experience preferred — we will train the right person

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Comfortable with computers, CRM software and typing while talking

• Reliable attendance — this seat is onsite and the phones do not answer themselves

• Demonstrated high performance in some arena — a job, the military, athletics, anywhere you had to be good at something and were

• Extended periods seated at a desk, on a phone and computer

• Fully onsite at our Northfield office — this is not a remote role

• Sustained talking throughout the shift

• Some evening or Saturday coverage depending on call volume
