Senior Accountant

What You’ll Do Prepare and post journal entries for production, labor, overhead, and inventory Analyze manufacturing costs and explain variances vs. standard/budget Support month-end and year-end close activities Partner with plant leadership to improve financial visibility Inventory & Production Maintain accurate inventory across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods Support cycle counts and physical inventory processes Investigate discrepancies and manage reserves/obsolescence Collaborate with operations to validate production reporting Review invoices, manage accruals, and reconcile accounts Ensure accurate and timely processing of plant-related transactions Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders Work within AS/400 (IBM i); SAP transition planned for 2026 Deliver P&L analysis, cost reporting, and variance insights Maintain compliance with internal controls and audit standards Drive process improvements and system enhancements Hybrid role: 2–3 days/week onsite at our manufacturing facility in Newport, TN Open to candidates located in the Knoxville, TN area Up to 25% travel to support operations and inventory activities What You Bring - Required Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 2–5 years of manufacturing accounting experience (required) Experience with cost accounting, inventory, and plant operations Hands-on experience with ERP systems (AS/400 and/or SAP preferred) Strong analytical and communication skills High attention to detail and accountability Preferred Standard costing and variance analysis expertise Experience supporting manufacturing plants CPA or CMA (or in progress) Direct impact on operations and plant performance Collaborative, fast-paced, and improvement-driven culture Exposure to ERP transformation (SAP implementation) Work alongside leaders in manufacturing excellence Ready to build better?
