Emergency Center Technician

Position Summary: The Emergency Center Technician provides direct patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse, utilizing his/her skill and expertise to complement other health care providers. EMT licensure & BLS certification required at time of hire. Current or recent emergency technician experience preferred. Safe, patient-centered care is the highest priority in the Emergency Center department. Candidate must provide compassionate care to the patients we serve. Candidate should enjoy fast paced work environment and possess excellent critical thinking, multitasking, and prioritization skills. Work Schedule: 0.7 FTE, Day/Night, 8hr position, every other weekend. Required Qualifications: Completion of EDT program or EMT program or completed at least first quarter clinicals of an accredited RN or LPN program. Currently validated CPR skills,BLS provider status in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) guidelinesrequired upon hire. Preferred Qualifications: Post-secondary education preferred; EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) or EDT (Emergency Department Technician) experience. Current EMT License upon hire and licensure maintenance recommended. This position requires familiarity and compliance with matters of law, regulations and internal policies affecting the employment relationship, (including but not limited to FMLA, ADA, EMTALA and discrimination and harassment laws). Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.
