Production Planner

Production PlannerThe Production Planner is responsible for converting customer demand into achievable production plans that balance capacity, materials, and operational constraints. This role serves as the critical link between demand signals and shop floor execution, ensuring schedules are realistic, communicated clearly, and adjusted proactively to support on time delivery and stable operations. Key responsibilities include:Translate customer demand, forecasts, and backlog into feasible production plans and schedulesDevelop, maintain, and manage daily, weekly, and monthly production schedulesBalance capacity, labor, equipment, and material availability to meet delivery commitmentsAdjust production plans in response to disruptions such as material shortages, capacity constraints, or priority changesAssess machine, labor, and tooling capacity against demand requirementsIdentify bottlenecks and overloads; propose tradeoffs such as overtime, or re sequencing of workSupport rough cut and detailed capacity planning activitiesCommunicate production schedules, priorities, and changes to production supervisors and operations leadershipWork cross functionally with Engineering (ECOs, NPI), Quality, Supply Chain, and Sales to ensure execution readinessTrack and report core planning performance indicators, including schedule adherenceSalary Range - $86K - $120KMinimum Qualifications:Proficiency with MRP / ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Epicor)Strong production scheduling and capacity planning fundamentalsIntermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including filters, pivot tables, formulas, and scenario analysisAbility to interpret bills of material (BOMs), routings, lead times, and work center dataData driven decision making using demand, inventory, and capacity informationAbility to identify conflicts, constraints, and tradeoffs quicklyExperience with scenario planning and impact analysis for changes in demand, supply, or capacityClear, concise communication of priorities and schedule changes to the shop floorAbility to negotiate priorities and align tradeoffs across Sales, Operations, and Supply ChainHigh attention to detail with strong follow throughEffective time management in fast changing manufacturing environmentsComfort operating under ambiguity and adapting to changePreferred Qualifications:Must be able to lift/pull/push up to 35 pounds.Exposure to shop elements such as noise, dust, and chemicals, with protective equipment provided as needed.Must be able to wear the necessary PPE (safety glasses, safety shoes, ear plugs, dust mask, etc.)Must be able to sit for long periods of time.Overtime and weekends could be required during heavy workload or to meet special customer demands.NxEdge is a subsidiary of Enpro, a leading industrial technology company focused on critical applications across many end-markets, including semiconductor, industrial process, commercial vehicle, sustainable power generation, aerospace, food and pharma, photonics and life sciences.
