Common Values Commitment to Team Members Adaptivity Dedication to Animal Welfare Community Uncompromising Integrity Results Safety & Compliance Job Summary The Sanitation is responsible for cleaning of the processing plant and equipment, while at the same time ensuring that the eggs are handled properly to maintain quality. Essential Job Functions Follow Hen Haven’s program as it relates to handling product and packaging material to meet or exceed the customer requirements, such as, but not limited to: Responsible for cleanliness of entire processing department. Machines must be cleaned to the per company standards. All facilities and rooms are to be cleaned. All waste and trash disposed of daily and properly. Responsible for cleanliness of shower areas. All showers are to be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized. All towels, uniforms, and supplies are to be stocked. All facilities cleaned daily. Comply with all USDA regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices, SQF, Safety Programs, Biosecurity Policies and Procedures and Food Defense Programs. Track product inventories: Cleaning supplies and Chemicals. Schedule regular cleaning of all facility surfaces including but not limited to ceilings, walls, and floors. Immediately report any mechanical problems or poor quality conditions to Supervisor or Maintenance staff where help is needed for repairs. Resolve as many immediately‑correctable issues as possible in the course of his/her normal daily activities. Help others where needed. Value your safety and the safety of your co‑workers. Follow all safety rules and conditions. Report all unsafe conditions to the plant supervisor immediately. Understand how to safely operate the equipment in your area. Assist in creating a One‑Team environment by communicating effectively with all plant supervision and staff. Perform all other tasks as requested by management. Qualifications High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred. Prior egg grading machine experience an plus but not mandatory. Reading and comprehensive skills necessary to follow instructions, and document. Must be able to lift 50lbs. Must be able to twist and bend. Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time on different surfaces, including concrete. Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
