Compensation Rates: $17.25–$19.67 per hour. Job Overview As a Direct Support Professional at Devereux, you will work with dedicated professionals to help adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The role includes providing daily living support, health and hygiene management, cooking, cleaning, recreation, and documentation. Responsibilities Assist in daily living activities (health and hygiene, cooking, cleaning, recreation). Maintain comprehensive records, including shift reports, incident reports, and individual progress reports. Provide a safe, therapeutic treatment environment that meets the physical, emotional, and personal needs of individuals. Apply crisis prevention/intervention, trauma‑informed care, CPR, and first aid protocols as necessary. Support individuals in achieving personal and social integration goals. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required; overseas diploma evaluated. One year of human services experience with children, adolescents, or adults is preferred. Minimum age 21 years. Valid driver’s license with clean driving record. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Empathetic, energetic, creative, a team player. Understanding of behavior management theories and positive reinforcement. Passion for working with special needs populations. Physical & Work Environment Requirements Significant walking, sitting, and standing; ability to lift up to 75–100 lbs. with safe approach skills. Occasional use of computers and office equipment. Occasional driving of Devereux vehicles for business purposes. Work performed in well‑ventilated, lighted spaces; occasional temperature fluctuations. Use of protective equipment (gloves, mask, eyewear). Potential exposure to blood‑borne pathogens.
