Event Operator & Local Representative - Miami

Job Description

About us

\n

Esfering is an editorial portrait studio for weddings and brand events. At each event, a photographer directs every guest through a short session under studio lighting, and the print is handed over on the spot.

\n

Founded in Spain in 2011, we work from Madrid, Barcelona and Miami, for clients including Volkswagen, Hearst and Vogue Fashion Night Out. We're looking for the person who runs our events in Florida.

\n

Two things before you read on. You need to be available on November 5 and 6 for paid training in Miami those dates are fixed. And you need to work comfortably in both English and Spanish ; guests at our events speak both.

\n

\n

The job

\n

Two parts, and we'll be straight about both.

\n

\n

Running events. You collect the equipment from our storage unit in the Doral area, drive it to the venue, set it up, guide each guest through their portrait session, hand over the prints, break it down at the end of the night and return the equipment. We train you on all of it. No prior photography experience is required.

\n

\n

Representing us in Miami. Meeting wedding planners, venue event directors and production agencies. Presenting what we do. Building the relationships that get us onto preferred vendor lists. This part starts once you've run a few events and know the service from the inside.

\n

\n

What it pays

\n

\n
• $30/hour for events, with a guaranteed 8-hour minimum per event. That's $240 minimum whether the job takes six hours or ten.
\n
• $300/month for the commercial side, against a monthly market report.
\n
• 6% commission on bookings you bring in, 8% if you handle them through to signature.
\n
• Around 10 paid hours a month for remote training and equipment handling, from day one.
\n
• Travel, accommodation and per diem covered when an event requires them.
\n
• Equipment, consumables and insurance are on us. You invest nothing.
\n

\n

\n

What to expect

\n

Volume builds over the year. At the start this works as a side income, not a full-time salary. If you need full-time hours right now, this is not it.

\n

\n

Weddings are usually Saturday nights. Brand events are often on weekdays, in the evening, and tend to be shorter.

\n

\n

A typical Saturday: you leave home around 5 PM, pick up the equipment, set up in about 90 minutes, work the event, break down in 45 minutes and return the equipment the same night. You're home around 3 AM. In a dark suit, without marking the venue's floors.

\n

\n

The equipment travels in two modules. It's not heavy lifting all night, but it's not light work either.

\n

\n

What's in it for the right person

\n

Terms are reviewed at six months, and as volume grows, so do the retainer and the scope. The role can grow into running our Florida operation. You also get real training: paid, in person in Miami, plus live remote support from our team during every event you run.

\n

\n

What you need

\n

\n
• Availability on November 5 and 6, 2026 , for paid in-person training in Miami.
\n
• Working English and Spanish , spoken. You'll be directing guests in both.
\n
• Authorization to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis. We cannot sponsor visas, now or later.
\n
• You live in the Miami area.
\n
• Your own vehicle, able to carry two modules, plus a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
\n
• Flexible availability, evenings and weekends. Events run late, and you need to be able to start right away.
\n
• Experience in hospitality, events, catering, concierge or front-of-house service. A luxury or five-star background is a plus, not a requirement.
\n
• Comfortable in a dark suit and tie, and comfortable talking to guests who didn't ask to be photographed.
\n
• Willing to work as a 1099 independent contractor. You're free to keep other clients; we don't ask for exclusivity.
\n

\n

\n

How to apply

\n

Apply with your resume and a short note, written in Spanish , telling us about one event where something went wrong on setup and what you did.

\n

\n

We're interviewing this week and deciding this week. If it's a fit, we'll set up a video call within 48 hours.
