Food Services - Food Service Worker I

Food Service Workers play a crucial role in ensuring that patients receive appropriate and nutritious meals. In addition, a food service worker in a hospital setting contributes to the overall well-being of patients by preparing and delivering nutritious meals, adhering to dietary restrictions, and maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety. This position performs a variety of cleaning tasks:

  • Maintaining clean and sanitary conditions in all Food service area.
  • Serve, and/or operate cash register in cafeteria.
  • May include dishwashing, pot washing, general sanitation, cleaning, and use of kitchen equipment.
  • May assist in the service and storage of food.
  • This position performs general duties in the cafeteria area as required to insure high quality customer service. They have direct contact with both employees and visitors.
  • Assists in providing quality food and an enjoyable dining experience for patients, guests, and staff.

Essential Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred; or 1 - 6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Food Handler's Permit required by Madison County.
