Overview

We are seeking Data Center Technicians (L1) to support a large-scale data center deployment project in Reno, NV. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with structured cabling, installation, telecommunications, or entry-level data center experience who are looking to grow their careers in a high-demand technical environment.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with cable installation, rack-related activities, and data center infrastructure support. Candidates from structured cabling, low-voltage, telecommunications, military, or technical trade school backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform rack assembly and preparation, including rail kits, cable management, labeling, and Power Distribution Unit (PDU) installation.
• Rack and stack servers, storage devices, and network equipment according to deployment specifications.
• Install, route, dress, and label copper and fiber cabling.
• Support cable pulling and structured cabling activities within the data center environment.
• Connect power cabling following established standards and procedures.
• Assist with airflow management and cooling-related activities within equipment racks.
• Support inventory scanning, asset tracking, equipment labeling, and documentation updates.
• Follow installation procedures, diagrams, and Method of Procedure (MOP) documentation.
• Conduct quality checks and report installation issues or discrepancies.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas while adhering to safety standards.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5–6 months of structured cabling experience.
• Experience with Cat5, Cat6, copper, coax, or fiber cabling installations.
• Experience performing cable pulling, routing, dressing, and labeling.
• Familiarity with low-voltage or telecommunications infrastructure.
• Ability to read and follow installation instructions and technical documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Ability to perform physical work, including lifting equipment, standing for extended periods, and working within rack environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous data center experience.
• Rack and stack experience.
• Experience installing servers, network equipment, or storage hardware.
• Knowledge of Power Distribution Units (PDUs) and cable management systems.
• Central Office (CO) or telecommunications environment experience.
• Military technical background.
• Technical trade school, vocational training, or related education.
