Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Role Overview: The Nuclear Medicine Technologist II performs complex nuclear medicine procedures, assisting physicians with diagnostic and therapeutic interventions. They mentor Technologist I and students, ensuring high-quality patient care, safety, and compliance with radiation standards. This role requires independent judgment, clinical expertise, and effective communication with patients and healthcare teams. Responsibilities Perform routine to advanced nuclear medicine procedures using radioactive substances. Assist physicians during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, maintaining sterile techniques. Provide patient education and ensure safety protocols are followed, including radiation safety and infection control. Mentor and guide junior staff and students, fostering a collaborative team environment. Ensure equipment quality, perform preventive maintenance, and report malfunctions. Accurately document procedures and manage resources efficiently. Participate in safety initiatives, quality improvement, and department projects. Qualifications & Skills Graduate of an approved educational program for nuclear medicine technology. Minimum of three years' experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist. Certifications: BLS, CMRT, and either ARRT-N or CNMT. Proficiency in clinical skills, communication, teamwork, and computer systems.
