Norwegian Linguist

Supporting sensitive law enforcement work, the part-time Norwegian Linguist will perform real-time and recorded transcription from Norwegian to English, producing accurate written products and communicating pertinent information to law enforcement personnel. Key responsibilities Listen to live or recorded communications in Norwegian and produce verbal and written synopses and transcriptions as required Build and maintain a master list of slang terms and codes, as well as a voice library for the duration of the project Transcribe and translate pertinent calls and documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project standards Required qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum one year of translation experience in Norwegian Knowledge of Norwegian colloquialisms, slang terms, and regional expressions Ability to achieve a score of 3 or better on a third-party language assessment in English and Norwegian Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office applications
