Senior Accountant- Sterling Heights, Michigan Contract Position Pay Rate: approximately $55.25 per hourDescription of the Senior Accountant:Provide financial analysis and postings of amounts to financial reports and schedulesMaintain daily, weekly, and monthly postings to the financials directly and indirectly into the accounting softwarePerform reconciliation of accounts to subsidiaries and affiliated companiesPerform monthly balance sheet reconciliationsComplete monthly financial reporting in corporate-provided reporting modulesResponsibility area: Senior Accountant, Month-end close, Support month-end closing and closing of system modules.Financial analysis; analyze daily, month-end, and year-end P&L and balance sheet activitiesJournal entries: Prepare and post journal entries and allocations to the GLIntercompany: Reconcile AR/AP intercompany accounts and prepare related charges/creditsAccounts Receivable: Support invoicing and collection of accounts receivablesBank Accounting: Reconcile bank accounts and post bank activity.Accounting Issue Resolution: Perform general accounting activities and review financial postingsAccounting standards/compliance: Ensure correct financial information and adhere to quality assuranceAudit: Support internal and external auditsControls/documentation: Follow SOPs, internal controls, accounting policies, SLAs and KPIs; maintain accounting documentationStakeholder coordination: Mainly works with Key Accountant and other relevant departmentsContinuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvementBackup/Broader Support: Cross-train to provide backup across accounting areasEssential Duties and Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:Analyze daily, month-end, and year-end activity of income statement and balance sheet accounts by performing periodic audits of daily activity to ensure correct financial information through general ledger entries.Prepare journal entries to maintain correct allocations for multiple-company financial informationReconcile bank accounts and post bank activity as requiredMaintain companies' financial assets and perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations to the general ledgerReconcile monthly intercompany accounts for subsidiaries and affiliated companies for accounts receivable and accounts payable as processed by the accounting areaPrepare related miscellaneous charges or creditsAssist the Accounting Supervisor/Controller with invoicing and collection of accounts receivableAssist in closing system modules for month-endAssist in general accounting as deemed necessary by the Accounting SupervisorCross-train in other accounting areas to provide backup when necessaryRequired Experience and Education of the Senior Accountant:Minimum five years (5) of experience requiredBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or universityA successful candidate will be subject to a background check and must receive satisfactory results of the same, as a condition of joining the team.
