Salary The salary range for this position is $68,496.36 to $108,810.90 for Schedule A, and $68,496.36 to $103,370.32 for Schedule B. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range. For current Judiciary employees, salary upon promotion or advancement will be an increase of 5% of base salary, not to exceed the maximum of the range, or the minimum salary of the band/level, whichever is greater. Judiciary employees hired prior to June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule A. Newly hired individuals, and Judiciary employees hired on or after June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule B. The New Jersey Judiciary, Monmouth Vicinage is seeking a self‑directed, organized, analytical administrative professional to work under the Court Executive 2B (Finance Division Manager) or other supervisory personnel. The selected candidate’s primary responsibilities will be in the areas of budgeting, accounts payable, and system and financial reconciliations. This individual will analyze and interpret accounting and financial data; provide cross‑training to co‑workers; write user documents or manuals; participate in meetings and perform other support duties as required. The successful candidate must have the ability to work on and prioritize multiple assignments; establish workflows and procedures; effectively manage time and meet deadlines; and participate as a positive member of a professional team. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel is preferred. Remote Work The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, in addition to installing a multifactor authentication app on your phone or tablet, you will be required to have high‑speed home internet access. Responsibilities Develop operation budgets and spending plan projections Screen disbursements and prepare supporting packages Process vendor payments and employee reimbursements Prepare monthly cost allocation report Reconcile electronic payments within the various court systems, ensuring payments are identified and posted accurately Function as a liaison and establish positive working relationships with other divisions, vicinages, central office and external stakeholders Perform cash control functions (daily register cash outs, deposit preparations and reconciliations) as needed. Draft and implement manuals, guides or operating procedures Adhere to accounting and internal control standards to maintain fiscal integrity Advise manager on deadlines, rules, regulation or related information Perform other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the Court Executive 2B (Finance Division Manager) and / or Court Executive 1B (Assistant Finance Division Manager) as operationally required. Qualifications Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree including or supplemented by 21 credit hours in accounting, business administration, economics, public administration and/or finance. Twelve of these credit hours must be in accounting and three years of professional accounting, finance, auditing and/or budgeting experience. Applicants who do not possess the required education, but do possess the 21 accounting, business administration, economics, public administration, and/or finance credit hours, including 12 accounting credit hours, may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience on a year-for-year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits. A master's degree in business or public administration, economics, accounting or finance may be substituted for one year of general experience, or a CPA designation may be substituted for one year of general experience as indicated above. Residency Law In accordance with N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), the 'New Jersey First Act,' all persons newly hired by the Judiciary within one year must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey. Any person may request an exemption from that requirement from the Employee Residency Review Committee in the Department of Labor & Workforce Development on the basis of either hardship or employer critical need.
