Hill View Retirement Center - Continuing Care Retirement Community

Hill View Retirement Center is seeking an experienced, energetic, and resident-focused Director of Food Services to oversee all dietary operations within our Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC). 

This leadership position is responsible for the operation of two kitchens and three dining venues serving over 200+ residents in Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living, and Independent Living areas of the CCRC. The ideal candidate will combine strong leadership, regulatory knowledge, culinary experience, and a passion for providing exceptional dining experiences.

Position Summary

The Director of Food Services is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating all aspects of food service operations throughout the community. This includes menu planning, food production, sanitation, staffing, budgeting, purchasing, regulatory compliance, and resident satisfaction.

The successful candidate will ensure that each dining program meets the unique needs of residents in:

• Skilled Nursing

• Assisted Living

• Independent Living

Primary Responsibilities

• Direct daily operations of two kitchens and three dining rooms

• Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate dietary department employees

• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations governing food service operations

• Maintain compliance with CMS, state survey, sanitation, and infection control requirements

• Collaborate with nursing, rehabilitation, activities, and administration to meet resident nutritional needs

• Oversee menu development and food production for all levels of care

• Manage food purchasing, inventory, and vendor relationships

• Monitor departmental budgets and control food and labor costs

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

• Ensure resident satisfaction through high-quality meals and excellent customer service

• Address resident concerns and incorporate feedback into dining services

• Maintain all required dietary records and documentation

• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives

Qualifications

Required:

• Previous management/supervisory experience in dietary services, food service, healthcare, hospitality, or senior living

• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards

• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Preferred:

• Long-term care or healthcare dietary management experience

• Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) credential or ability to obtain certification

• Experience in a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC)

• ServSafe Certification

• Experience managing multiple dining venues or kitchens
