POSITION BEGINS: August 4, 2026 Position Summary: The Dean of Students will oversee and lead the Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) team, collaborating closely with the restorative practice coordinator, special education, social worker, and teachers to provide comprehensive support for students. This role requires a strong team mentality and a collaborative approach to student success. The Dean of Students will work in partnership with the building principal to manage attendance, advisory programs, restorative practices, discipline, and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). The Dean of Students will not be responsible for evaluating teachers. Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience in an educational setting, with a focus on student support services, restorative practices, or special education.
- Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills; ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Familiarity with MTSS, PBIS, restorative practices, and student support strategies. Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Five or more years of experience working in an elementary school setting
- Strong track record of meaningful and positive relationships with children and parents
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership that results in teamwork and collaborative working relationships.
- Evidence of ability to establish working relationships that result in mutual respect.
- Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication.
- Demonstrates a willingness to take professional risks to improve opportunities for students.
- Strong interpersonal and public relations skills.
- A collaborative approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
- Understanding and compassionate approach toward students' needs and challenges.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and adapt to changing needs and priorities
- Shares with building principal the responsibility for protecting the health and welfare of all students
- Regular, reliable, and punctual attendance is an essential function of the job.
- Investigate and resolve all student discipline problems in a fair and just manner
- Oversees all matters of student attendance, advisory, PBIS, and restorative practices
- When appropriate, make recommendations to the child study team to make appropriate referrals for testing, guidance, or psychological counseling
- Makes recommendations for appropriate revisions of, and assists in the interpretation of, programs, policies, and procedures affecting students' lives at school
- Provides and maintains appropriate communication with families and community, including law enforcement and the judicial system.
- Contributes to the design and implementation of professional staff development programs to support building and district goals.
- Creates and maintains a safe environment for all staff and students.
- Bending, lifting, and overhead work are required.
- Proven track record in dealing with students and families from diverse backgrounds.
- Proven success in dealing with at-risk populations.
- Collaborate with the building principal on key initiatives and policies related to student support and school climate. Share with the building principal the responsibility for protecting the health and welfare of all students. Make recommendations for appropriate revisions of, and assist in the interpretation of, programs, policies, and procedures affecting students' lives at school. Contribute to the design, facilitation, and implementation of professional staff development programs to support building and district goals.
- Provide and maintain appropriate communication with families and the community, including law enforcement and the judicial system.
- Lead MTSS Team: Oversee the Multi-Tiered System of Support team to ensure effective implementation and monitoring of support strategies for students.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the restorative practice coordinator, special education staff, teachers, and social worker to create and maintain a supportive environment for all students.
- Attendance Management: Monitor and manage student attendance. Implement strategies to improve attendance rates and address chronic absenteeism. Oversee all matters of student attendance.
- Advisory Oversight: Coordinate advisory programs to support students' academic, social, and emotional development. Oversees all matters of student advisory.
- Restorative Practices: Promote and implement restorative practices to build a positive school culture and resolve conflicts constructively. Oversees all matters of restorative practices.
- Discipline Management: Oversees student discipline, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies and procedures. Creates and maintains a safe environment for all staff and students, including recess.
- PBIS Implementation: Lead the implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports to promote positive behavior and academic success. Oversees all matters of PBIS practices.
