Job Description

Summary


Ardent Health Services is seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse (RN) - Trauma ICU to join a Level I Trauma ICU team. This is a high-acuity critical care assignment supporting trauma and critically ill patients.


The unit has 16 beds across 14 rooms and maintains an expected 1:2 patient ratio . The successful candidate must have strong ICU experience, be comfortable caring for ventilated patients, and have hands-on experience with complex critical-care interventions.


Epic EMR experience is required. Candidates must also have prior travel nursing experience .

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to critically ill and trauma patients in a Level I Trauma ICU.
• Manage a typical 1:2 patient ratio .
• Care for mechanically ventilated patients and manage advanced respiratory support.
• Manage patients requiring BiPAP/CPAP .
• Perform ventilator management as applicable.
• Start and maintain peripheral IV access.
• Provide central line care and management.
• Administer and monitor blood products.
• Perform continuous cardiac monitoring.
• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias.
• Respond appropriately to cardiac and clinical emergencies.
• Provide neurological assessments and critical neurological care.
• Perform/assist with ICP monitoring when applicable.
• Accurately document patient care using Epic .
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Float to ICU, IMC, and Telemetry as needed.
• Maintain compliance with facility, trauma, infection-control, and patient-safety standards.

Key Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience.
• Travel nursing experience required.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Level I or Level II Trauma experience preferred.
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred.
• Teaching hospital experience preferred.
• Community hospital experience preferred.
• Experience managing a 1:2 patient ratio preferred.
• Strong experience caring for ventilated patients.
• Must be comfortable working in a high-acuity Trauma ICU environment.
• Must be willing to float to ICU, IMC, and Telemetry as needed.

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
• BSN preferred, if applicable to facility requirements.

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of ICU/critical-care RN experience .
• Travel nursing experience required.
• Trauma ICU experience preferred.
• Level I or Level II Trauma experience preferred.
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred.
• Teaching hospital experience preferred.
• Community hospital experience preferred.

License

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• Candidate must meet all applicable licensing requirements for the assignment location.

Certifications

• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS
