Cardiac Anesthesiologist

HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL, is seeking a Cardiac Anesthesiologist to join their team. The position involves managing anesthesia for a diverse range of cases, including cardiac, within a highly advanced surgical environment.

• The facility is a Certified Level II Pediatric Trauma Center and a Certified Level I Trauma Center.
• It is a teaching hospital affiliated with Southern Illinois University School of Medicine.

Responsibilities

• Perform case assignments including General, Ortho, Cardiac, Pediatrics, and OB.
• Assist in directing and coordinating activities in the Anesthesia Department.
• Manage the medical care of patients rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during medical procedures.
• Conduct pre-anesthesia assessments.
• Obtain and/or verify patient consent.
• Discuss anesthetic options and risks with patients.
• Induce, maintain, and emerge patients from anesthesia.
• Monitor the patient's physiological condition.
• Perform clinical intervention as needed.

Compensation

• Salary: $600,000
• Cardiac stipend: $100,000
• Sign-on bonus: $75,000

Requirements

• M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine.
• ECFMG and FLEX.
• Completion of approved residency in anesthesia.
• Currently licensed as a physician.
