Location: Avera Medical Group Gastroenterology-Sioux Falls Worker Type: Regular Work Shift: Day Shift (United States of America) Pay Range: $27.75 - $41.25 Position Highlights You Belong at Avera Be part of a multidisciplinary team built with compassion and the goal of Moving Health Forward for you and our patients. What you will do Perform general nursing care to patients, administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards, and coordinate patient care activities for the clinic. Prepare equipment and assist provider during procedures, treatments, examinations, and testing of patients. Observe, record, and report patient’s condition and reactions to drugs and treatments to provider. Oversee appointment scheduling and ensure preferences are given to patients in emergency situations, maintaining timely flow of patients. Greet patients and prepare them for physical examination. Screen patients for appropriate information including obtaining health history, taking vitals, and conducting a nursing assessment. Document obtained information in patient chart and instruct patient in collection of samples and tests. Respond to patient phone calls in a timely manner with appropriate input from physician. Educate patients and families about diagnostic process, medications, nutrition, and maintenance of health and wellness. Suggest solutions to patient care crisis problems and complaints. Maintain exam rooms with necessary supplies and materials, ensuring cleanliness. Prepare list of medical supplies needed. Assure appropriate labeling of pathology specimens according to lab protocol as needed, perform quality control and maintain records on all lab testing. Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience: Registered Nurse (RN) - Board of Nursing. An active license in the state of practice upon hire.
