Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse Manager - Spokane, WA. This position involves overseeing clinical operations within a 388-bed hospital that functions as a Level 3 Trauma Center with a Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The role requires managing staff, ensuring patient safety, and supporting the clinical team during a 21-week contract covering holiday periods, with an emphasis on teamwork amidst a high-stress environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, from 09/21/2026 to 02/06/2027.
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, MOAB/CPI (acceptable to start without per nurse manager 10/22/2024), 3-5 years of experience in a Level 3 or higher Emergency Room setting.
• Preferred Qualifications: PALS or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN) certification, experience with electronic medical record systems such as EPIC, and skills including resuscitation, conscious sedation, line/drain/tube management, and general emergency department procedures.
• Support on the Unit: CNA/ER Techs (2-4 staff depending on shift) and phlebotomy support (RN will perform).
• Technology/Equipment: EPIC EMR (required), IV pumps (Alaris), Pyxis medication dispensing system, bedside and centralized telemetry monitoring.
• Orientation: One week of general orientation, 24 weeks of unit-specific orientation.
• Shift Details: For preceptors, shifts will rotate days and nights; traditional travelers will follow submitted shift schedules.
• Additional Notes: Utilizes a 1:1 patient care model for Critical Patients (CAP). Supportive team environment with an emphasis on mentorship to manage stress levels within the team.
• Travel Flexibility: Limited floating, primarily within the facility.
• On-Call & Holidays: On-call as needed; holiday coverage required.
• Approval of Time Off: Up to 7 days, with additional time subject to manager approval.
