Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN SICU - Surgical Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in New Orleans, Louisiana.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: SICU - Surgical Intensive Care\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 10/05/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Oct 5, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Surgical ICU position requiring transplant and post cardiac surgery experience along with a Compact or LA RN license.Details\n \n High acuity Surgical ICU with a 1:2 patient ratio\n Night shift, 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts from 18:45 to 07:15\n Float requirement to other ICUs and step-down units\n Epic EMR experience required\n Care for post-op surgical recovery patients including transplant recovery for liver, heart, lung, kidney, and pancreas\n Experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) preferred\n PA catheter and balloon pump (IABP) experience preferred\n No on-call requirement\n No block scheduling requests accommodated\n Requirements\n \n Active Compact or LA RN license required in hand at time of submission\n Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (AHA required)\n Minimum 2 years of specialty ICU experience required\n Required transplant experience: liver, heart, lung, kidney, or pancreas\n Post Cardiac Surgery experience directly from the OR required\n Prior travel nursing experience required\n NURSYS report required, dated within 4 weeks of submission\n Additional Information\n \n 13-week assignment with orientation held 5 days per week\n Candidates may be assigned to an Emergency Team requiring extended on-site presence during facility emergency events\n Must reside more than 65 miles from the facility, as local candidates are not accepted\n Requested time off (RTO) must be listed on the profile and discussed during the interview to avoid offer rescindment\n Two Manager or Supervisor references (not Charge RNs) required prior to start, though not required for submission\n Previous Ochsner Health permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must have a full year separation before returning as a traveler\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-749444.
