Veterinary Student Externship – Shady Brook Animal Hospital Located in a thriving community | $1,000 Travel Stipend | Supportive Mentorship Are you looking to apply your classroom knowledge in a real-world setting while being mentored by a collaborative and experienced team? At Shady Brook Animal Hospital, our externship program is designed to give veterinary students a well-rounded clinical experience in a welcoming, high-quality practice environment. Responsibilities One‑on‑one mentorship from seasoned Associate Veterinarians Hands‑on experience performing physical exams and gathering patient histories Diagnostic workups, treatment plan creation, and case discussions Exposure to dentistry services and the opportunity to assist in surgical procedures Client communication training and team collaboration opportunities Program Highlights Duration: minimum 2 weeks, up to 4 weeks (flexible based on student and hospital schedules) Eligibility: veterinary students in their clinical years Stipend: $1,000 for students in their clinical years to assist with travel/living expenses NVA is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
