Machine Operator

Job Summary This position will independently set‑up, operate and troubleshoot one machine/equipment, including Shear, PNL, Turret, Brake Press, Robotic Cell, Cut‑to‑Length, Roll Forming/Seaming, and Press Lock. Duties and Responsibilities Set‑up, thread the material through, and operate independently one machine (Shear, PNL, Turret, Brake Press, Robotic Cell, Cut‑to‑Length, Roll Forming/Seaming, Press Lock, Welder/Paint Booth). Follow daily manufacturing work orders, giving special attention to various materials and adding any specific notations needed. Assist with the operation of other machinery under close supervision. Assist with packaging at the end of the line as needed. Band and palletize metal coils and/or metal sheets, placing tags/labels on finished product. Perform quality checks to verify proper lengths, widths, and weights using appropriate tools. Achieve production goals while complying with all safety requirements. Mount and install slitter knives, spacers, and guide discs for specified coil widths; adjust clearances and gapping on roll‑former equipment. Adjust machinery by observation and monitoring equipment feedback, performing quality control methods. Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and daily equipment inspection. Keep work area orderly. Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Must be 18 years or older. Highly motivated with a sound work ethic. Able to safely operate a sit‑down forklift (training provided; all production employees must complete CCM’s forklift certification program). Follow safe working practices with great attention to detail. Adhere to CCM’s policies, procedures, and processes. Possess good communication, organization, and time‑management skills. Basic computer, mathematics, and problem‑solving skills; use a calculator. Use measuring devices (gauges, tapes, rulers). Team player who follows instructions from management and peers. Learn and operate new equipment. Education and Experience High School diploma or equivalent. Minimum of six (6) months of experience. Working Conditions Fast‑paced manufacturing environment with exposure to ambient/outside temperatures and dust. Mechanical parts and pinch points present; noise levels increased. Hours: 40 hours per week; Shift 1st; Monday – Friday, 6:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Flexible to overtime and weekend hours when required. Physical Requirements Lifting or Carrying (up to 51 lbs or more). Pushing or Pulling (up to 51 lbs or more). Bending or Stooping. Reaching Above Shoulder Level. Driving Automatic Equipment Vehicles. Operating Machinery or Power Tools. Climbing (Ladders, Stairs, etc.). Walking, Standing, and Sitting. Working in Extreme Temperatures. Repetitive Motion (wrists, hands, fingers). Vision, Hearing, Dexterity, Hand‑Eye Coordination. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Used Personal Protective Equipment is regularly required for this position, including steel or composite toe boots, safety glasses, cut‑resistant gloves and arm guards, and hearing protection. Location This role is performed onsite at our facility located at 6198 W Airport Blvd, Greenfield, IN 46140. Compensation and Benefits Hourly Rate: $23.55.
