Barista

Encore Village is currently hiring for a part time Barista in our Dining Services Department. A Barista is responsible for preparing and serving a variety of hot and cold beverages, primarily coffee and espresso drinks, while delivering excellent customer service. The role includes handling food and beverage preparation, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and ensuring customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks (espresso, lattes, cappuccinos, etc.) and teas according to standardized recipe.
• Operate espresso machines, grinders, and other coffee-making equipment.
• Take customer orders and handle payments via cash or point-of-sale (POS) systems.
• Provide friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable service to all guests.
• Keep the cafe clean, stocked, and always organized.
• Maintain hygiene and food safety standards.
• Educate customers on coffee blends, brewing methods, and menu items.
• Assist in opening and closing procedures.
• Restock supplies and ingredients as needed.
• Work collaboratively with team members and support other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in food service or customer service is preferred.
• Knowledge of coffee and espresso preparation is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
• Basic math skills and familiarity with POS systems.
• High school or GED preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for long periods
• Lift up to 25 pounds
• Perform repetitive tasks like grinding coffee and operating equipment
