Allied Health Professional VA Nursing Practice

Duties

Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional VA Nursing Practice provides excellence in Veteran healthcare across a continuum of services and continuously improve nursing care for our nation's heroes in collaboration with our nursing colleagues.

• Provides direct care for complex Veterans
• Makes observations of subtle changes in resident's condition
• Monitors patients according to levels of observations i.e. (one to one suicide, continuous observation, 15-minute checks, and hourly rounding).
• Monitors Veterans who may be at risk for harming themselves and or others
• Documents care given, observations and responses on appropriate tools or forms
• Performs nursing procedures within scope of practice and according to policies and standard procedures including but not limited to enemas, catheterization, colostomy care, skin care, simple dressing, application of braces and prosthetic devices, and monitoring of care.

Work Schedule

Dayshift 7:30 a.m. 8:00 p.m. and/or 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. including rotating weekends and holidays, with rotation to night and evening shift 1-3 days a month.
