Radiation Oncology Registered Nurse (RN)

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | 4x10-hour shifts, Weekdays

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Radiation Oncology Team to provide continuity and quality patient care throughout the treatment course and follow-up period
• Assess patients and implement appropriate nursing interventions for actual or potential problems related to disease process and treatment
• Provide teaching, counseling, and supportive functions to assist patients and families in coping with cancer diagnosis and treatment
• Assist the Radiation Oncologist in the evaluation and examination of patients
• Serve as a liaison between Radiation Oncology and other departments, physician groups, and community support organizations
• Assess and coordinate appropriate referrals for alternative resources including rehabilitation, hospice, nursing home care, and nutritional services

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Colorado in good standing
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience specifically in Radiation Oncology (Radiation Oncology experience required; Medical Oncology experience alone does not qualify)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Ability to coordinate patient care across interdisciplinary staff in a fast-paced clinic environment

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Current knowledge of evidence-based practices in oncology, immunology, pharmacology, and community health
• Experience managing patients across varying age groups, developmental stages, and cultural backgrounds
• Familiarity with chronic illness and comorbidity management in an oncology setting
• Knowledge of the latest trends, procedures, and protocols in hematology/oncology and internal medicine practice
