Overview

The Day Porter (Facilities) is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment throughout the facility to support efficient daily operations. This role performs routine custodial services, light maintenance tasks, and general facility support functions to ensure workspaces, common areas, and exterior grounds meet company cleanliness, safety, and quality standards. This position works with minimal supervision and is expected to demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to workplace safety. The role requires the ability to prioritize tasks, respond to immediate facility needs, and interact professionally with employees, visitors, and vendors. This position is critical in contributing directly to creating a safe, welcoming, and productive work environment.

8am- 4:30pm M-F *Potential overtime if necessary

Responsibilities

• Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

   

  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe facility environment in accordance with company standards and safety procedures.
  • Use several types of methods to clean the location such as floor scrubbers, brooms, mops, carpet cleaners etc. as needed.
  • Empty, clean, and reline waste receptacles throughout the facility and dispose of waste in designated areas.
  • Empty corrugate waste bins and transport materials to the compactor as required.
  • Assist with maintenance tasks in the breakroom and restrooms as needed such as soda fountain maintenance and light plumbing work.
  • Regular walks of the perimeter of the building to pick up any trash that has accumulated.
  • Help maintain an inventory of supplies required for facility maintenance.
  • Report any issues with equipment or facility infrastructure, such as broken fixtures, leaks, or unsafe conditions, to the maintenance team.
  • Assist with minor repairs as needed, such as replacing light bulbs, batteries or handling small paint touch-ups.
  • Assist in setting up/take down and organizing areas for meetings, trainings, or events.
  • Provide support to Maintenance Technician(s) on day-to-day tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Less than 1 year of related experience required
• Fluent in English required
• HS Diploma
