Instructional Designer

TekStripes is hiring a Trainer / Instructional Designer (Subject Matter Expert I) to design and deliver training Provider Directory program. You will provide technical knowledge and analysis of highly specialized applications and operational environments, and translate complex systems concepts into clear, learner-friendly curricula and job aids. You will perform high-level functional systems analysis, design, integration, documentation, and implementation guidance on moderately complex problems, applying the methods and knowledge of the functional area to specific task order requirements. You will assist senior consultants with analysis, evaluation, and recommendations for system improvements, optimization, development, and maintenance across specialties including information systems architecture, networking, telecommunications, automation, communications protocols, risk management and electronic analysis, software lifecycle management, software development methodologies, and modeling and simulation. U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder (no sponsorship); able to obtain a Public Trust if the contract requires it. WHAT YOU WILL DO Design, develop, and deliver instructor-led, virtual, and self-paced training for end users, administrators, and technical staff on Provider Directory applications and supporting systems. Build curricula, lesson plans, facilitator guides, participant workbooks, quick reference guides, and job aids aligned to adult learning principles and accessibility standards. Provide subject matter expertise on specialized applications and operational environments, and translate functional and technical requirements into clear training content. Conduct high-level functional systems analysis and document workflows, processes, and configurations to support training development. Apply advanced mathematical principles and methods to narrowly defined technical problems where required to support automated solutions and training scenarios. Assist senior consultants with evaluation, recommendations, and documentation for system improvements, optimization, development, and maintenance. Maintain a training library and refresh content as systems, processes, or policies change; capture feedback and measure training effectiveness. WHAT YOU WILL BRING Bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant experience in training, instructional design, or technical SME work. Strong instructional design skills, including curriculum development, lesson planning, and learner assessment. Ability to absorb complex technical material and explain it clearly to mixed audiences. Working knowledge across one or more of: information systems architecture, networking, telecommunications, automation, communications protocols, risk management, software lifecycle, software development methodologies, or modeling and simulation. Excellent written documentation skills for guides, job aids, and process narratives. U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder (no sponsorship); able to obtain a Public Trust if the contract requires it. NICE TO HAVE Experience with e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Captivate, or Camtasia, and LMS administration. Section 508 and accessibility-compliant content development. Certifications such as CPLP, CPTD, or equivalent instructional design credentials. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS Salary range: Based on experience, qualifications, and location. Employer contribution of 50% toward the employee-only health plan. 401(k) plan with a 4% company match. 12 days of paid time off and 40 hours of sick/disability leave each year.
