Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Required Qualifications:

• Current NMPED certification in Special Education
• Proven experience or strong interest working with elementary-aged students
• Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Strong communication skills to work effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to adapt teaching methods and materials to meet diverse learning needs
• Organizational skills for maintaining accurate records and meeting deadlines

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with general educators, related services providers, and support staff to design inclusive lesson plans and learning environments
• Deliver individualized and small-group instruction, ensuring each student can access the curriculum and reach their full potential
• Develop, review, and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with regulatory requirements
• Monitor student progress, provide regular updates to families, and participate in IEP meetings
• Create a positive, respectful classroom atmosphere that fosters social-emotional growth and academic achievement
• Implement classroom management strategies tailored to diverse learners
• Participate in ongoing professional development and school community activities
