About the Facility – Long Beach VAMC The VA Long Beach Healthcare System is one of the most diversified health care systems in the VA. Ambulatory Responsibilities

Includes Primary Care and Medical Sub-Specialty Clinics (Dermatology, Oncology, Podiatry, Urology, PM & R, Cardiology, Nephrology, CT/MRI, Neurology, Allergy, GYN, Infectious Disease) in Long Beach. All other Community-Based Outpatient Clinics are focused on Primary Care. Shall be responsible for patient assessments, medication administration, IV therapy, interdisciplinary team coordination, telemetry monitoring, admissions and discharges, internal and external transfers, delegating to assistive personnel, electronic medical records documentation, patient transport and emergency response procedures.

Ambulatory/Outpatient Unit Qualifications

• Completed courses for nursing from an accredited program approved by either the Commission for Education in Nursing or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
• A current license in at least one state, territory, or commonwealth in the U.S. or the District of Columbia.
• A minimum of three years' direct care experience.
• Must have Basic Life Support certification.
