Position: Elementary Music Teacher - St. Lawrence Elementary School - Part Time Location: Lafayette Catholic School System, 2410 S. 9th Street, Lafayette, IN 47909 Fall 2026-2027 Academic Year St. Lawrence Elementary School St. Lawrence Elementary School is a Roman Catholic elementary school, grades K-6, serving the Diocese of Lafayette in Indiana. Job Summary The Lafayette Catholic School System is seeking dynamic, faith-filled servant leaders who love children and enjoy teaching. We are seeking a faithful, energetic, and organized educator who is dedicated to the academic and spiritual development of our students. Primary Purpose Under the general supervision of the School Principal, a successful candidate will be able to develop students' skills and competence in elementary school music education. Education/Certification Indiana teaching license to teach the subject or grade for which he/she is applying. Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university. Possess respect and ability to uphold Catholic School Teachings Able to pass and maintain Diocesan child safety protocols Special Knowledge/Skills/Attributes Knowledge Understands appropriate use of Learning Management Systems. Skills Strong written and oral communication abilities. Ability to organize and coordinate work. Ability to build parent and student relationships. Believes in planning and preparation, while also being a progressive thinker. Cares about his/her character, co-workers, and students. Exhibits consistency in decision‑making. Experience Previous elementary school teaching experience preferred. Responsibilities and Duties Create and sustain a student‑centered learning environment. Develops and administers music education curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives. Develops balanced music program and lessons to organize class time so that students have adequate time for preparation, instruction, and creating music.
