Assist pharmacists in the accurate preparation and distribution of prescription medications .Reporting RelationsAccountable and Reports to: AVP, Pharmacy Services; FC Pharmacy Manager; Pharmacist; Lead TechniciansPositions that Report to you: NonePrimary Duties and ResponsibilitiesWorks with co-workers as a team to ensure strict adherence to standard operating procedures and facility policiesHandles inquiries that do not require a pharmacist’s expertise and judgment.Assists in developing standard operating proceduresPrepares and affixes labels to prescription containersAssists in training employeesAssists in adherence to quality assurance standardsGain complete understanding of Hy-Vee’s retail pharmacy operations and, offering avenues to better serve themReports any medication errors to appropriate personnelOrders, checks-in, and stocks pharmacy suppliesMaintains cleanliness of pharmacy and dispensing areaMaintains strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dressAdheres to all statutes and regulations pertaining to a pharmacy technicianReports to work when scheduled and works expected number of hoursPerforms mail order call center duties including data entry to prepare prescription ordersManually counts medication quantities and replenishes medication cells as neededReplaces empty medication cells and brings full cells to robotsSecondary Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssists in areas as neededPerforms other related job duties and special projects as requiredAssist in stocking of pharmacy suppliesEducation and ExperienceH igh school diploma or equivalent. Certified as a licensed technician through a certified national program and maintains continuing education requirements to keep license active.Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or pharmacy clerk is preferred.Physical RequirementsVisual requirements include: ability to see detail at near and far range with or without correction, field of vision, and color vision.Must be able to physically exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 10 pounds of force frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.Must be able to perform the following physical activities: Stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, reaching, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker CharacteristicsCommitment to the Hy-Vee Mission and a willingness to promote the values of the companyStrong leadership skills; ability to assist other members of the department.Must have the ability to do logical or scientific thinking to solve problems; several abstract and concrete variables.Excellent verbal and written communication skillsHave the ability to do arithmetic calculations involving arithmetic, algebraic and geometric calculationsAbility to work in a fast paced environment, assisting in the preparation of accurate prescriptions.Must be able to compose original correspondence; follow technical manuals; have increased contact with people; interview counsel or advise people; evaluate technical data.Working ConditionsThis position frequently involves a fast work pace in a production setting.
