About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years of PCU/stepdown/ICU experience required License: Valid state license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or Stepdown - Comfort with floating to ICU and MedSurg units - ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required - Must not reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility Description: This is a Stepdown role that frequently floats to ICU and MedSurg units. Travelers must have experience in ICU. Must be comfortable floating frequently between Stepdown, ICU, and MedSurg units. Patient ratios in Stepdown will be 1:4-5, ICU 1:2, and MedSurg 1:5-6. Floating across Stepdown, ICU, and MedSurg units will be required. Valid state license and certifications must be in place at the time of submission. Travel experience is preferred. Nurses will be expected to work with a variety of patients, including those with CHF, COPD, respiratory failure, pneumonia, and post-cardiac events. Skills required include managing and accessing ports, administering blood products, handling chest tubes, and providing care for renal failure and seizures. Staffing may include interdisciplinary support from physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy. Expect to work some holidays and weekends in rotation with staff. Floating policies comply with current standards, ensuring appropriate orientation to new units.
