Lead Maintenance Technician

Lead Maintenance TechnicianPay Range: $27.00 - 30.00 an hour The Lead Maintenance Technician is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day workflow in the maintenance department. Under supervision from the campus, this position assists with directing the work of facility staff. This position also oversees projects and preventative maintenance schedules in their area of expertise.ResponsibilitiesSchedule daily assignments and projects for maintenance personnel based on incoming requests and routine maintenance scheduleDetermine methodologies and materials needed to complete maintenance jobsPerform and complete all preventative maintenance performed in their specialty area, consistently tracking the completionAssist with supervising maintenance and repairs of campus buildings, painting, plumbing, electrical wiring and other related service or maintenance activitiesInspect and evaluate completed work projectsAssist with supervising department training and performanceProvide information regarding changes and safety protocols for maintenance proceduresMake recommendations for facilities purchase ordersFollow and support compliance with standard safety practices including but not limited to wearing gloves, glasses, or other appropriate Personal Protective Equipment [PPE]Other duties as assignedQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED (required)Minimum five (5) years of experience in building maintenance that include a skilled trade (required)Experience with electrical test equipment and welding equipment (preferred)Experience with repair and construction trades (Painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical, welding and/or HVAC)Basic computer skills (required)Experience using forklifts and scissor lifts (preferred)Common maintenance practices including construction, plumbing, electrical, HVAC and weldingSafe and proper of electrical, plumbing, HVAC and welding toolsUnderstanding of how to design and implement preventive maintenance schedules to avoid equipment failuresFlexibility to address urgent repairs and unexpected issues that may arise during workLead, train, and support a team of maintenance staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environmentAble and willing to:Communicate, think, learn, and reasonUse computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to process transactions, store documents, enter data, or perform assigned tasksSafely ambulate and/or maneuver when on-site at Company locationsDemonstrate and utilize active listening, inductive reasoning, information ordering and category flexibilityAbility to use good judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skillsAbility to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information with discretionAbility to work in a fast-paced environment where deadlines are essential and multiple projects are worked simultaneouslyAbility to gain, understand and apply information and data as it relates essential functions of the positionAbility to foster long-term relationships with stakeholdersFrequently (up to 60% of workday)Work is primarily performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment when on site at assigned company location.
