Powersports Technician

The Powersports Technician is responsible for the diagnosis, repair, and scheduled maintenance of a variety of types of Powersports equipment. There will be cross training into other types of equipment repair i.e. construction, small ag, and lawn & garden on an as needed basis.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ability to diagnose equipment utilizing diagnostic software and/or online technical manuals
• Perform component removal, disassembly, and reconditioning as part of the repair process
• Safely operate all equipment the dealership sells and services (ATVs, Motorcycles, Side x sides, etc.)
• Resolve electrical and mechanical issues
• Help the dealership by participating in special programs, such as sales of service packages.
• Communicate repairs with customers so they have an understanding of the work being done

Position Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience with Small Engine Mechanics (Powersports experience strongly preferred)
• High School Degree required
• 2-year technical degree within mechanics field preferred
• Candidate must have or be willing to obtain Polaris certifications
• Ownership of necessary tools
• Electronic diagnostic ability
• Perform some tasks without supervision
• Ability to lift at least 75 lbs repeatedly
• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
• Ability to use a computer and various types of diagnostic equipment
