Registered Nurse (RN) – Ambulatory Surgery CenterProvide exceptional patient care in a fast-paced, specialized ambulatory surgery environment.We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our ambulatory surgery center in Peoria, AZ. This is a hands-on clinical role providing high-quality nursing care throughout the pre-operative, procedural, and post-operative/recovery phases of the patient experience.The ideal candidate is a confident, compassionate RN with 3+ years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center, outpatient surgery, ICU, Medical-Surgical, or Emergency Department setting. Experience with vascular procedures, nephrology, dialysis, or cardiac care is highly preferred.This is an excellent opportunity for an RN who enjoys a collaborative, procedural environment and wants to provide focused patient care in an outpatient setting.What You'll DoPre-Operative & Patient CarePerform comprehensive pre-operative nursing assessments, including medical history, medication review, vital signs, and clinical documentation.Prepare patients for scheduled procedures and ensure all required information, testing, consents, and orders are complete.Establish IV access and perform lab draws and point-of-care testing as indicated.Obtain and monitor vital signs, including HR, BP, oxygen saturation, and EKGs.Administer oral and IV medications, including medications for pain, anxiety, and sedation, as ordered.Monitor patient response to medications and promptly identify and communicate changes in clinical condition.Provide patient education regarding procedures, medications, recovery, and discharge instructions.Communicate relevant patient information to physicians, anesthesia providers, and other members of the care team.Provide direct patient care based on daily staffing and patient volume.Procedural & Intra-Operative SupportPrepare procedure rooms and ensure necessary supplies, equipment, medications, and emergency resources are available.Assist physicians and the clinical team with patient positioning, preparation, and procedural needs.Provide nursing support throughout procedures and anticipate the needs of the physician and clinical team.Maintain appropriate sterile technique and infection prevention practices.Monitor patients throughout procedures and communicate changes in patient condition to the appropriate clinical team members.Follow appropriate radiation safety practices when a C-Arm is utilized.Assist with vascular and other interventional procedures as appropriate to scope of practice and training.Post-Procedure & RecoveryProvide post-procedure and post-sedation nursing care and monitoring.Perform ongoing assessments and monitor vital signs throughout the recovery period.Assess patients for complications and changes in clinical condition and escalate concerns appropriately.Administer medications and treatments as ordered.Evaluate patients prior to discharge and ensure established discharge criteria are met.Provide patients and caregivers with clear post-procedure and discharge instructions.Communicate follow-up needs and post-procedure information to patients, physicians, dialysis facilities, and other care partners as appropriate.Quality, Safety & CompliancePromote adherence to ASC policies, clinical protocols, and patient safety standards.Follow infection prevention and control policies and maintain a safe, clean clinical environment.Maintain accurate medication, narcotic, and clinical documentation in accordance with center policies.Follow OSHA, CMS, state and federal regulations, Joint Commission standards, and radiation safety requirements.Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, incident reporting, and other patient safety activities.Maintain competency in emergency procedures and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition.Assist with opening and closing responsibilities as assigned.Participate in staff education, training, and competency activities as needed.Documentation & Care CoordinationMaintain accurate, timely, and complete patient documentation in the electronic and/or paper medical record.Communicate effectively with physicians, anesthesia providers, clinical staff, patients, and other care partners.Coordinate patient care and follow-up needs with referring providers and dialysis facilities as appropriate.Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all applicable privacy requirements.Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.What We're Looking ForRequiredCurrent, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in accordance with applicable state law.Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.Clinical RN experience in an acute care, hospital, outpatient, or procedural setting.Strong clinical assessment, communication, organization, and critical-thinking skills.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented clinical environment.Commitment to providing safe, compassionate, patient-centered care.Preferred3+ years of RN experience, ideally in one or more of the following settings:Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC)Outpatient surgery or procedural environmentIntensive Care Unit (ICU)Medical-SurgicalEmergency Department (ER/ED)Previous experience caring for patients undergoing vascular, interventional, cardiac, or other procedural services.Vascular access, nephrology, dialysis, or cardiac experience.Experience caring for patients before and after sedation.Strong IV insertion and vascular access skills.Experience with pre-operative and post-operative patient care.Familiarity with C-Arm procedures and radiation safety
