Assistant Operations Manager

Job Details Shift: 11:30am-8pm, must be available to work weekends. Salary: $50,000 annually. If you cannot view the posting, contact your Talent Acquisition representative. Essential Responsibilities Assist in the efficient day‑to‑day operations of the distribution center. Contribute to meeting overall financial objectives of the distribution center compared to budget. Create and foster an environment of trust, two‑way communication, and cohesive team effort. Ensure alignment with the strategic vision and communicate the organizational mission and values to the team. Conduct regular meetings with team members, including one‑on‑one meetings with direct reports twice a month. Ensure adherence to operational processes, policies, and procedures. Maintain the distribution center’s appearance, cleanliness, and functionality to meet company standards. Identify opportunities and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Facilitate resolution of customer service issues. Verify driver payroll for accuracy. Conduct required physical cycle counts, review discrepancies, and make appropriate corrections. Use proper safety equipment and adhere to all safety policies and procedures. Complete all required training modules and certifications by the due date. Communicate professionally with all internal and external contacts. Execute team member performance improvement plans, progressive discipline, and terminations when appropriate per company policy. Non‑Essential Responsibilities Participate in monthly DC‑wide meetings to communicate organization achievements and opportunities. Assist Loss Prevention with audits and safety reviews. Provide training and periodic retraining on safety and other topics to team members and contract employees. Monitor employee time records and review and approve paid time off and leave requests in accordance with policy. Participate in the interview and hiring process for potential DC team members. Manage the DC in the absence of the DC leader. Engage in coaching conversations and administer disciplinary actions. Lead or participate in daily stand‑up meetings at the beginning of each shift or team meeting. Take an active role in onboarding and training new DC team members. Execute company initiatives and other activities requested by the supervisor. Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities. Contribute ideas to optimize or improve the team, department, and company. Education High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Professional Experience 2+ years related experience preferred. Skills Approachable and capable of building goodwill, positivity, and loyalty among team members. Evaluates the financial impact of business decisions on long‑term business wellbeing. Competencies Warehouse, logistics, or supply chain knowledge. Computer literacy in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. General warehouse standard operating procedures. Basic retail operations. Inventory control. Safety policies and procedures. Financial analysis, reporting, and budgeting. Licenses and Certifications None specified. Physical Demands Warehouse environment with frequent sitting, standing, walking, talking, and hearing. Lift or move up to 100 pounds. Use of hands and fingers; reach with hands and arms. Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Clear vision required to ensure safety. Compensation Competitive salary at $50,000 annually plus bonuses depending on qualifications and experience.
