Research Security Manager (Physical Security)

Job Details Location: Atlanta, Georgia Full/Part Time: Full-Time Regular/Temporary: Regular Job Summary The Manager of Research Security is tasked with developing and implementing security protocols to protect sensitive research data and facilities from potential threats. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of security measures and compliance standards to ensure the safety of personnel and the integrity of research activities. Responsible for setting employee goals, assessing performance, providing feedback, and making pay recommendations. Responsibilities Job Duty 1 - Develop and implement comprehensive security policies and procedures to protect sensitive research data and facilities from unauthorized access and threats. Job Duty 2 - Collaborate with Information Technology and research teams to integrate security protocols into research processes and technologies. Job Duty 3 - Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Job Duty 4 - Conduct regular security assessments and audits to evaluate the effectiveness of existing security measures and identify areas for improvement. Job Duty 5 - Monitor security incidents and breaches, conduct thorough investigations and coordinating response efforts to mitigate risks. Job Duty 6 - Provide training and awareness programs for employees on security best practices and the importance of safeguarding research information. Job Duty 7- - Develop and maintain relationships with law enforcement and security agencies to enhance the organization's security posture and response capabilities. Job Duty 8 - Prepare and present reports on security incidents, risks, and compliance to senior management and relevant stakeholders. Job Duty 9 - Evaluate and recommend security technologies and solutions to improve the organization's overall security infrastructure. Job Duty 10 - Stay current with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to research security to ensure compliance and best practices. Required Qualifications Educational Requirements Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience. Other Required Qualifications Overnight travel requecurited for project delivery; Required Experience Five or more years of relevant experience, including three or more years of supervisory experience. Preferred Qualifications Preferred Educational Qualifications Master's Degree in related discipline or equivalent. This position does not have any financial responsibilities. This position will not be required to drive. This role is not considered a position of trust. This position does not require a purchasing card (P-Card). This position will not travel. This position does not require security clearance. This position is located in Atlanta, GA Salary Job Grade R10 Salary range is dependent on candidates experiences and skills that ranges from $109,562 - $185,165. Due to our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be U.S. Citizens.
