About the Role The Senior Buyer is a strategic procurement leader responsible for driving sourcing strategy, supplier development, and procurement execution across Aegis's multi-market project portfolio. This role operates at the intersection of supply chain strategy and project delivery — owning category strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring that material commitments align precisely with project installation schedules. The Senior Buyer is expected to lead proactively, surface risk early, and function as a trusted partner to project management, engineering, and operations leadership. What You'll Do Own end-to-end procurement execution across project-based environments, ensuring material availability aligns with installation schedules, budgets, and project specifications Collaborate cross-functionally with project management, engineering, logistics, and operations to synchronize purchasing activities to project timelines and delivery milestones Read and interpret bills of materials (BOMs) and drawings to source materials, generate purchase orders, and support project execution Build and manage supplier relationships, including vendor selection, RFQs, quote analysis, and performance management across multiple projects Negotiate pricing, lead times, and commercial terms to support project margin, cost control, and delivery commitments Develop and execute sourcing strategies, including identifying alternate suppliers to reduce risk and support project timelines Track procurement against project schedules, proactively identifying risks (lead time, cost, or supply constraints) and escalating early to stakeholders Utilize ERP systems and Excel-based tools to manage purchase orders, compare vendor quotes, and maintain accurate procurement data Support a fast-paced, project-driven environment where priorities may shift across controls, distribution/fulfillment (DNF), or customer-specific workstreams Contribute to a collaborative, team‑oriented culture by working closely with internal stakeholders and adapting to changing project needs Core Values Professionalism: Maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Requirements 5+ years of procurement, purchasing, or supply chain experience in a project-based, capital equipment, or industrial environment preferred Background in electrical, controls, or industrial components procurement is strongly preferred (or ability to quickly learn vendor landscape and components) Experience supporting project-driven procurement, including working with schedules, milestones, and installation timelines (not just transactional purchasing) Ability to read and interpret bills of materials (BOMs), drawings, and technical project documentation Strong supplier management and negotiation skills, including experience with RFQs, pricing analysis, and vendor selection Experience working within an ERP system (e.g., Microsoft Business Central or similar) and strong proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office tools Familiarity with project tools such as Gantt schedules or project planning software is preferred Strong cross‑functional collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across engineering, project management, and operations teams Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, evolving environment with changing project needs High level of adaptability, initiative, and willingness to learn new product categories and procurement workflows Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build vendor relationships and maintain a collaborative, team‑oriented approach Preferred but not required: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field Benefits Competitive salary Health insurance 401k Paid time off 10 Company Holidays Professional development opportunities This job description describes the general nature and level of work expected of a person assigned to this position.
