Job Description
Job Description
Step into a vital district-wide role supporting students from Pre-K through 12th grade as a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT), or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), on a full-time contract basis. You’ll be making a meaningful impact by covering a 12-week FMLA maternity leave, with the strong possibility of continuing beyond the initial assignment. This opportunity is ideal for professionals who are fully committed to contributing to a temporary leave assignment, understanding that an extension is likely but not guaranteed.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- Active Connecticut OT license, or COTA license/certification (CT DPH license and NBCOT exam passed)
- Experience in a school-based setting preferred
- Reliable transportation to travel throughout the district
- Confidence working with students from early childhood through high school
- Commitment to a temporary maternity leave coverage (with possible extension)
Responsibilities:
- Deliver school-based occupational therapy services district-wide, including assessment, intervention, and documentation
- Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and multi-disciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized student plans
- Support student progress and help foster independence in academics and daily life skills
- For COTAs: provide therapy under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, as required
Why You’ll Love This Assignment:
- Work with a variety of student populations across all grade levels, broadening your skill set
- Enjoy a supportive, collaborative work environment
- Gain valuable experience in a progressive school district
- Flexible, full-time schedule (about 7–7.5 hours per day)
If you’re ready to bring your expertise and positivity to a district that values your skills—and you’re comfortable with the unique nature of this maternity leave assignment—we want to connect with you! Apply now and help enrich students’ lives during a crucial period of growth and learning.
Compensation for this position ranges from $37.64 to $57.64. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
