Heavy Equipment Operator

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator/Foreman to join our construction team on the 1st shift. This role requires several years of hands-on experience in operating heavy equipment, as well as the ability to manage job sites independently. The ideal candidate will be proficient in reading excavation and septic plans, capable of laying out the site accurately, and managing a crew of 2-3 people. This position demands a team player who treats the company as their own, ensuring projects stay on time and within budget.

Responsibilities:

• Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, skid steers, backhoes, front end loaders, and forklifts.
• Read and interpret excavation and septic plans to accurately lay out job sites.
• Manage and oversee a crew of 2-3 people.
• Ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
• Contribute to site layout and general labor duties.

Essential Skills:

• Several years of experience in heavy equipment operation.
• Proficiency in operating various construction machinery including excavators, dozers, and front end loaders.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans.
• Strong leadership skills to manage a team effectively.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• CDL License Class A is preferred.
• Experience in site layout and general labor.

Work Environment:

The position is 1st shift, operating from 7am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday. The role involves local travel to job sites, providing a dynamic work setting.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Whiting, NJ.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
